ILLUSTRATIVE BUSINESS SCENARIOS

See how clearer financial thinking can change a business decision.

The following fictional examples illustrate the types of challenges Fintell’s services are designed to address. They are not actual client engagements, verified results or predictions of what your business will achieve.

A food business prepares for expansion

Challenge

A small food producer wants EC$150,000 for equipment and working capital. The owner has supplier quotations but has not connected production capacity, expected orders and loan repayments in one forecast.

Illustrative approach: A funding-readiness review clarifies the use of funds, tests demand assumptions and prepares a forecast that includes a slower-sales scenario. The business stages the proposed investment and assembles the supporting records.

Illustrative outcome

The owner has a more coherent funding request, understands the cash needed during expansion and can explain the assumptions to a potential lender. No funding approval is implied.

A retailer identifies a margin problem

Challenge

A fictional retailer generates EC$100,000 in monthly sales at a 25% gross margin. Discounts, purchasing costs and slow-moving stock make it difficult to understand which products contribute most.

Illustrative approach: Review product-level margins, reassess discounting and purchasing, and introduce a regular stock review.

Illustrative outcome

If gross margin rose to 29% at the same sales level, gross profit would increase from EC$25,000 to EC$29,000 per month. The EC$4,000 difference is gross profit before any change in overheads, tax or implementation costs. This is scenario arithmetic, not a reported client result.

A service firm gains cash visibility

Challenge

A fictional service firm reports profits but faces unpredictable cash because customers pay late and project costs fall due before milestone invoices are collected.

Illustrative approach: Build a 13-week cash forecast, clarify billing milestones and review overdue accounts weekly. Test how changes in collection timing affect upcoming commitments.

Illustrative outcome

The owner can see projected shortfalls earlier and make more informed decisions about collections, spending and project scheduling. Better visibility creates a basis for action; it does not itself guarantee more cash.
